HiNever been to Bansko (only pamporovo), but liked the honest report. I amazed at some peoples reaction to the report though (replys seem a little sarcastic, agressive even). Its interesting hereing the negative side, especaily from someone who has been to the other resorts(and liked them).
I love skiing in bulgaria , but the skiing facilies etc are not beyond critisum. It will be interesting to now read other peoples reports.

What makes me laugh is the people who are getting all defensive and insisting they are going to ahave a great time when they go to Bansko come what may, and they have never been to Bulgaria before. Like you said my report was honest, i never said we didnt have a good time in fact we had a great laugh Bansko just wasnt what we expected especially after the warm welcome we got in Borovets. Its a shame this report is coming to the end of ...

As my nickname suggests I am a bugarian, I live in Sofia, Bulgaria and I love to ski. That's not important.
About Bansko:
I've been there numerous times as i've in all the others big resorts (borovetz, pamporovo and some others you most probably you'll never here of) so i know what it is there. I think it is a really, really boring place. Excluding the Mechanas (as i se you call them) of course. Well i don't know for you people but this is not quite enough to make me stay ...

About Bansko:
I've been there numerous times as i've in all the others big resorts (borovetz, pamporovo and some others you most probably you'll never here of) so i know what it is there. I think it is a really, really boring place. Excluding the Mechanas (as i se you call them) of course. Well i don't know for you people but this is not quite enough to make me stay there for more than an evening at a time. Which is exactly the reason we go there in the morning and go back to Sofa in the evening.
Not only that there's completely nothing but those people who live in bansko and nearby towns actually hate evryone else in Bulgaria which is a bit rediculos.
Generally I really don't like it.
Nevertheless for the time being this is the best ski resort in Bulgaria. It has the best lifts ever seen in Bulgaria, there are a lot of skiruns, not as many as in european resorts but still many compared to the other bg resorts.
The bad thing is that the winter of 2k3-2k4 is really bad for ski
Just yesterday i was walking arounf in my tshirt 15+C temperatures
and then i wake up in the morning and surprisingly see 30cm of snow on my car
and it's still snowing. Great!!!!
So tomorrow i'm going skiing again, and again in Bansko, and again just for the day, although Borovetz is closer to Sofia. I'm sure we'll have a great time if the weather let's us and that's it.

Hello HAHAHWell i think you have finished this page fantastically. If people dont believe what they hear from a real Bulgarian then i am afraid there is no hope. Enjoy your skiing, next time we go to Bulgaria (wont be for a couple of years) i will try and trace you and it would be great to meet up for a days skiing and a beer at the end of the day.
