I personally like Bulgaria and the bulgarians when i go this time it will be my 5th visit, 3 skiing two to visit country. So to quote a prevoius writer, im ofended on behalf of the bulgarians at your attitude, especially if you are british, "dont dis em man!" i cannot imagine the holiday cost half what your visit to the states was or will be!!!
I personally counldnt afford a skiing holiday in the states, and wouldn't want the false ness of the people there, "missing you already"
Hey and how can you trust a people that voted for bush TWICE, once could be considerd a mistake but TWICE hey thats just dam stupidity.
And just before before i get off my high horse, Churchill and US did sell out a lot of countries after the 2nd world war, but the history books also mention that bulgaria were on the Germans side......yes and before i get a come back of "so were the italians", this could unfortuantly be a reason why it was on the sell out list!
leaving high horse now
Sorry I didn't mean to imply Bulgaria was third world by any means, in fact I was trying to point out quite the opposite.
I was totally impressed with how nice it was, although a little disappointed they went to such effort to provide British meals instead of Bulgarian. The people were so helpful and friendly, the language is beautiful, my hotel was spotless. It was the most luxurious holiday I've ever had!

But there's still a certain satisfaction knowing you're lining the pockets of Bulgarians and not the French . The socks don't really fit though, doubt I could sell them on ebay! Anyone want some socks...
I have been to Borovets and Pamporovo in Bulgaria, and the resorts are poles apart. I found Borovets to be geared up for partying yougsters, more commercial and impersonal than Pamporovo. Although I think the skiing in Borovets will be better than Pamporovo when they upgrade the resort. However, I have always been treated well in Bulgaria, and have found the culture quite interesting to learn about. However, I have always been treated well in Bulgaria, and have found the culture quite interesting to learn about. If you look beyond the poorness of the country which has improved fourfold over the years,I think it is the best value for money holiday you can get. You cannot compare the brassy US to this quaint place. I am sure other resorts are more upmarket, but I love Bulgaria and their people, I'll stick with them thanks.
I was really saddened to read this report from Charles, the Bulgarians have a harsh life and I think they are incredibly hospitable and lovely people.
They have lived through more than we brits would endure and still remain smiling and friendly towards the 'soft' nations.
Give them some credit for they are trying to improve their country, whilst working for peanuts!
