Skiers definitely, because of boarders... endless hours of hilarity, watching them skid sideways then catch an edge, straight line and catch an edge, attempt a jump....... and catch an edge are you seeing a pattern here ? and im not even going to mention ice, or long flattish piste
Well I have only skied so I cant realy say but the comments we have allready do actualy seem quite true, but I'm sure there will be some posters come back with more comments.
And hell yes they do make me laugh using all that energy trying to get along a flat piste with there feet still straped in.

This is the age old question!! Had tea tray's been invented, Shakespeare's question in Hamlet would have been different.!!!
Sking obviously is the more gracefull and harder to master.
Board sliding, has been developed from the difficult art of surf boaring for the individuals who do not like water (some say do not like washing) but still like the pretence of being "COOL" if you can look cool sat on your backside for most of the day watching the skiers wizz past
Please ...

never tried snowboarding, to be honest it doesn't look much fun! looks like hard work sliding about on a ironing board but millions do it so I imagine it must have its advantages... could imagine it to be good off piste but then with all the new fat ski's out now I would still rather ski...
wont knock it too much till I have tried it but don't think that will be any time soon as I don't want to have to start using words like awsome and gnarly oh and I haven't got any baggy pants to do it ...

I started with surfing, Westcountry boy so it was the law, and i loved surfing, summer and winter... in fact it was 2 surf mates who got me into skiing...
In the day (long time ago) there was not such things as snowboards, i remember the first ones appearing in the likes of Les Arc, hand crafted in wood, with a rope on the tip to steer, then Burton developed a pitex based board with steel edges, these came in various forms but initially they were quite long, thin, and used with normal ski ...

I thought then as with the mono board (both feet together facing forward) that it was a fad, and would disappear, disappointingly i was wrong, and resorts now are overrun with these baggy trousered, dread haired `boarders'... Don't get me wrong, as individuals the guys are great, but there is something inherently wrong with sliding down a hill sideways, its unstable, and akin to trying to balance on a knife-edge, with your feet tied together... An accident waiting to happen, and they do...
I will never be convinced, there is no comparison between snow and sea surfing, the surfboard being the ultimate design for taking advantage of the natural condition, the snowboard being a compromise, like a snowbike, or blade skis.. yes, you can get down the hill, but nowhere as well as if you have the security of 2 independent skis, and poles as an aid...
Ok so as an ex skier and now a boarder i would have to say you can have a lot more fun on a board, and to be honest i think skiing is for all the old timers these days who are still too scared to try something new.............. Anyone in boro 22nd jan onwards am there until 4th feb...........
