Have talked to a solcitor today ( a friend- not purpusley about this like!) and he agrees, that if the school can take kids out for a weeks sporting and cultural education, theres no reason why a parent can not do the same- said this was argued a few year back in a court and the parent won hands down.
Maby the school masy cancell their trip (doubt it as said good free week for the hangers on as the teachers partners etc are going!)
Will look into this in the next week or so!

ian, as i think you are aware, we took a team over for the Chamkoria Cup in Boro in term time. The kids were between 4 and 14, and we had no trouble at all with any of the differant schools (from public to VERY keen highly rated secondry), it seems that because it was for 'race Training' and then to take part in the FIS Junior races that that was perfectly ok!!!! as opposed to just going on holiday!! and by the way its only £400!! school trips are a flipping rip off!! Razz Razz Razz Razz get them ...

Razz Razz Razz Razz get them down your local slope, and get them to do a bit of race practice, most slopes have 'classes' and then come and join us theyll love it Booze Booze Booze (ps the parents seem to have a good time as well)

Ian, it appears you should've stayed at school (purpusely) a little longer. Or, perhaps, (like s.p) join bnp?

Ian

if your up in Newcastle next winter have a look at Swinehope and Yad moss, need your own ski stuff or rent from somewhere and take with you. We had three cracking days up there last year. Down side for us over a 2hour jourey.have a look at there web site.

Belatedly - This makes me so cross! I was also told not to take my son out of school and yet there was a school trip - vastly overpriced -which my son didn't go on which took them out of school for one week! Little work was done in that week so the majority of kids on the trip didn't have to catch up once back. My son is rarely ill and never misses school -apart from the 5 days a year off school to come ski-ing with me in January. They are in school - not the army ! Let my son have a week ...

Let my son have a week off with me (single parent/scum of the earth whichever way you look at it) on a holiday we couldn't otherwise afford which educates him physically and mentally. Rant over !!
