re: Pistes Comparison!

No Ski bus doesn't run all day. It runs 8 till 10 and then 3 till 5.

Not sure about this coming season though - I was there last week and i gather that the ski bus service is to be suspended leaving the hotels to provide their own transport to the slopes. Bit of a duff decision by the new resort management in my opinion and I'm reasonably confident that this will be resolved prior to the start of the season. That is, unless they want a revolution on their hands!

re: Pistes Comparison!

Ive only skied borovets for one day, but I skied down to the bottom of a piste and ended up at what i think was a shooting range in the middle of nowhere. The only way back up seemed to be to pay for a horse and cart taxi to take us back to the main lift at the bottom. Has anybody else had this problem ? I was not really impressed and it really put me off the place.

re: Pistes Comparison!

We stayed in Bansko last February, early before half term and we had a couple of awful mornings queueing for the gondola.

We did miss our first lesson ass we were still at the bottom half an hours after it was supposed to have started. We queued for at least half an hour every morning and a couple of mornings were over an hour.

Having said that, it was my first time skiing and I loved the place and had booked to go back there again this year but have now relocated to Borovets due to ...

re: Pistes Comparison!

Davekl, I went to Borovets and can't undertsand what you mean, by ending up in the middle of no-where. I think the safe bet for me is to go back to Boro, as the resort is right on the slopes, no extraordinary queues, and some decent runs. Unless anyone else can think of any reason why i should choose another resort over Boro again as i would love to try somewhere else, but my heart keeps saying go back to Borovets lol Razz

re: Pistes Comparison!

we skied down from the very top and just followed the piste down, at the bottom there was no lift andi could not find a path , just some donkey and carts , waiting for people like me i assume, but it was a fair ride back to the lift. I have just looked at the map and think it is the left hand, looking from the bottom. Perhaps it was just me, but i could not find any way to a lift, just a shooting range ?
