Mark, I wouldn't if I were you. Because of the heavy investment and development in the retail sector of the airport, the taxi rank had to go. They now have to share the tarmac on the runway with the planes. Good luck though

What I really like is the free superfast wireless internet. I had a problem with my connection, went to the internet reception they gave me a coffee and one of those nice caramelised biscuits and before you know it bobs your uncle up and running. Sky sports games are shown on plasma screens everywhere which is good when your flying on a saturday, mind you the aspers casino is good for a few hours. There is also a 'for your eyes only' club but I've never been in it so not sure whats in ...

Not only is the airport great - but parking facilities are superb.

Your car is taken away on arrival, valetted, and all rubbish is removed including wallets, mobile phones, luggage and radios.

The airport staff are easily recognised in their smart new Donkey Jackets and traditional Bulgarian style flat cap.

Passport control has also seen a facelift - the guy has been told to look at you at least once, and the space has been widened to allow you just to swing your cat if required ...

It was the moving walkways to the check in desks that had me rushing to book again!
What a refreshing change to Heathrow.
I'm really disappointed that I fly to Sofia this year and our friends (who have never experienced Plovdiv) are inconsolable!

re: Restaurants in Plovdiv Airport

On a final note (and a big thank you to everyone for helping to calm my Plovdiv fears) - I also heard that Plovdiv is the first 'ski-in / ski-out' airport - can anyone confirm this please?

Oldieski, I believe that is a new feature for this season. Remember to collect your lift pass with your boarding pass.
Ski/board hire is available from the fella who collects the trolleys!

re: Restaurants in Plovdiv Airport

Indeed yes Oldeski - the changing facilities are like a members golf club.

Fresh clean towels, hairdriers, massage room, all decked out with gold taps and fittings.

It really makes Sofia look - tacky Confused
