Agree about lifts and health and safety - the first time we went to Pamps, we managed to travel the whole way up the mountain without pulling the safety bar down! We didn't realise you had to and nobody said anything!
This year we saw a few pile ups at the top where one person had fallen and others then tripped over them. LIft operators just laughed. I never once saw any of them try to help.

The one person we did find helpful was the guy at the top of the single man chair. He was helping everyone off and if you fell, he hauled you back onto your feet - he was very nice about it too.
Mind you, good old UK 'health and safety' wouldn't allow for all those lovely log fires in wooden huts ...
Will not go back to Boro mainly because of the problems with instruction - there were three of us all in different groups. Mine was great fun but very little instruction and I ended up less confident than when I started, My friend was a beginner who had nothing to compare but I know from my experience that she did not get enough instruction or lesson time to progress as she should - it should be 2 times 2 hours a day on one day after a 10:30 meet it was only 2 runs on the beginners run at ...

A shame because I would have liked to seen the resort with better snow conditions.
We have just returned from Borovets. I was a little apprehensive with the bad comments made about ski instructors etc.
I would like to add a positive note that not all ski instructors are the same I had an instructor his name is Toshk he was great. The group I joined was an intermediate group and by the second day we all had gained confidence in our skiing. It was a little disappointing about the lack of snow on the bottom runs. I would have liked to have skied all the way down to the Rila.
I have returned from my holiday as a more capable skier - I would have never thought I would have been able to have gone down the blue, red runs and I think we joined onto a Black. Brill
Was in pamps mid-Feb and had a ball. Our instructor was excellent, rado from pamporovo ski school. We were all total novices ranging in age from 5 to 50 ish. He was really kind to the kids in the group (5 under 10), extremely patient with all of us, but challenging as well. He was very good at assessing our abilities and pushing us to the next level but not too far or too fast. He was also really good fun, we spent the entire week laughing. It was my first time skiing and I can't wait to go ...

Me and my son have had a number of great instructors in pamps over the last 4 visits. The only problem I ever had was when one of my son's instructors english was not great ....she was lovely but he struggled to understand her .....I think he then used this as an excuse to do what he liked and expect her to mop him up after ( little tike) as a result he only spent one morning with her. All the others have been great such as Pedko, Tico, Mero, Ross, Tanya and of course the fantastic Kaio who ...

Being a novice skier with little fear I taught my wife to ski this year in Pamps.
Walked to the chair lift with her, held her as she put her skis on and listened to her worry all the way up to the top of the mountain to how she would get of the chairlift.
Once we did get off at the top in one piece I then gave her a gentle push down the moutain
Guess what for someone that has never skied before she only fell over 3 times.

By the end of the week and passing loads of ski schools she was as good as the rest.
Ski school looks fun but if one of you has basic knowledge of skiing just take the other half up the mountain and give them a push
Though explain the stopping bit first, unless you want rid of your other half then say nothing, and turn the gentle push into a hard shove, then ski off in the direction of any fit looking single females
