We were in Borovets 9th Feb - 16th Feb 08. We got our skiing equipment from Rila 1 and being 7 of us first time skiers we thought we would have someone to show us how to fit them! No ! We changed them a few times and then were happy. First ski instructor called Framppy (Frampas!!?) with Boro sport was useless for us beginners. We changed them a few times and then were happy. First ski instructor called Framppy (Frampas!!?) with Boro sport was useless for us beginners. He showed us how to snow plough stop twice then took us up the gondola to the green run at the top! 1 adult and 2 children in our party picked up skiing really well (total 12 in our group, 7 in our party )so the instructor went onto the next stage. Horrendous. Myself and friend and my 2 children (one of which is partially deaf and dyspraxic) didn't pick it up too well so we stayed to one side . Not once did he see if we were ok or needed help even though we told him. The next morning we asked to change instructor.I approached our inghams rep and she took me to the Boro sport head office in the Rila hotel . He then made a call and we met Bobi on the slopes half an hour later. We had to join an existing group of 12 on their first day and they were brill. Bobi spent 2 hours with us totally showing us how to snow plough stop. Then again in the afternoon. So a total of 4 hours on the first day. How much confidence did we all gain that day so much so Bobi took us on the green run the next day . He was fantastic and cared for all our differing abilities that day. he was very patient with my dyspraxic daughter and gave her and some others in the group a ride across the large slopes ( on the green run ) It did take us 1 an a hour hours to get down but there were 16 in the group and Bobi was brilliant at asking the various abilities to wait at the next stage for the rest of the group to catch up,my friend and I thought also he was the best looking ski instructor in Bulgaria!! Say a big hi to Bobi if you are lucky enough to have him as your instructor. He gave us his email to book him next year but as yet he hasn't replied! Has anyone else heard from him or knows him?
There's a few Bobby's at Borosports. Not many good looking ones though. Think I know which one you mean - tallish and slim, patient, cheeky grin and likes a laugh. Did you socialise with him? If it is the same one, he's mad off the slopes.
It's always worth asking to change groups, it can make all the difference.

He said 'Dont forget to ask for Bobi next year and seemed really a really genuine guy. He told us all about his family and pets and showed us photos and film of them. As it was our first time skiing - maybe he was just being kind and says that to all the girls!!
I'll ask around. They usually only have a private email address so it should reach him. Depends on how good his pc and English is. I only send 4 photos at a time.
From my experience, he will remember you next year and will be pleased to see you.
Thanx. would really love to hear from him. we had such a great time. The presentation night at Rila was brill. With us in Bobi 's group first up for dancing!! We had a whip round for Bobi and i think he really appreciated the money we collected for him.He told us he is a builder in the summer (which i expect most instructors are) but the skiing is the better pay of the two. He never works sundays as he spends that day with his family. Very nice guy.
We got back from Boro 15.03.08. My wife, myself and two friend were in beginers ski school and had the mis-fortune of having Ellie as our instructor (sorry to disagree with BG & Tara) She was rude, inpatient, only able to explain things in one way, shouted, waved her poles around and generally seemed pi**ed off. We thought she was so bad we didn't even bother with ski school for part of our holiday. Not sure of her problem but many others in our overall group found her equally obtuse and a ...

We thought she was so bad we didn't even bother with ski school for part of our holiday. Not sure of her problem but many others in our overall group found her equally obtuse and a bad teacher. We were all a good sensible adult group so it's not like we were fooling around either. Nearly everyone ended up arguing with her and it was 100% of her making, she continually bullied and picked on my wife - AVOID HER AT ALL COST!
