Yes you are not going to belive this but after months of rumours and denials by the Bulgarian Government I can be the first to confirm the bad news. Pamporovo has just had Speed Camara's installed on the slopes and they go live tomorrow.
Said a Bulgarian minsister from the Ski department(his name is witheld to prototect his identity.) " We can confirm that after months of careful thinking we have decided to intstall Speed Detetcion camera's on the slopes in Pamporovo."

My source tells me that their are a number of camaras ready to spring into action tomorrow. I can exclusively reveal that their are at least 3 on the wall!! These have been set to flash anyone going over 10mph. In other parts of the resort the speed limit is set at 15mph. Anyone caught will receive a £50 fine when they return to their hotel at night. You will be given just 24 hours to pay or the fine doubles.

This is awful new Daniel, as I ski at something approaching the sound barrier it could mean a prison sentance for me.I understand ski wardens will also be giving tickets for anyone stopped in the middle of a slope.
Can you confirm if this is also a fact?

Yes that is indeed the case Pete. The wardens will be under plain ski clothes! Sneeky gits!! It gets worse though. If this is a success and I am assured it will be the next step will be to introduce the camaras on the nursery slopes with speed limit beig set at 3mph!

Yes you will now be given a personal id number when you collect your ski's that you must wear at all times on the slope or you will be removed.re: Speed camara's in Pamporovo

No Paul I am deadly serious. This idea has been muted about for a long time but Bulgaria is this first country in the world to try this. The fines will be ploughed back into the resort so I am told.re: Speed camara's in Pamporovo
