Shack on far nursery slope- large hot wine 3lev.
Chinese(if you fancy it!?)- huge mountain of food on Christmas Eve for 6 people only cost us about £55 with drinks!!!.

Walk around and check the place out!!
Don't listen to all these negative comments ...

Don't listen to all these negative comments anbout how expensive it is. The only negative comment I'll make is that the price at the top are expensive, so ski down to village and get the gondola back up.

Enjoy!!!!!!!

re: TRUE PRICES IN BOROVETS!!!

Strange as I was in the Chinese on Boxing night and had the set meal for 2 bot wine , bot sprite along with child meal and it came to 80 lev that is £40, it was a nice bot of wine.

Boro is not cheap, I was there last year, of course the £ is currently worth 1/3 less than then together with a significant % increase in local prices, Boro has become expensive of course this is all relative. Next Christmas Poland is looking good.

A nice bottle of wine ? how much was that ? it can make a huge difference to the prices, there are bottles of wine that cost 80 levs, The wine might of been more than half of the bill ?

re: TRUE PRICES IN BOROVETS!!!

Hi,

Set meal was probably a really bad choice as done this the year before and poor in comparison to buying individual dishes!!!!!These were huge portions!!!
Not here to argue over prices, this is what we paid!!! You were probanly screwed on your wine!!!

Yes obviousy prices have gone up and in comparison to rest of Europe I still think its a damn sight cheaper!!

For all those visiting - ENJOY!!!!

re: TRUE PRICES IN BOROVETS!!!

Skiing is a very expensive hobby. Borovets provides the opportunity for people to go skiing on a lower budget, who could perhaps not afford to go to the much higher priced resorts in France/Italy/Austria/USA etc. But don't expect to get something for nothing! If you can't afford the prices in Borovets, well have you thought of trying a different sport......train spotting maybe, that's cheap!

Hi Christine,

I agree and expect that the prices in both France and Austria will be a littele dearer when we visit in Feb and April!!
Must say though that Borovets is not just for the cheap its also great for the family and begineres that I took with me!!!

I agree with you entirely. Borovets is a great place to learn to ski, especially for families. There's been a lot of talk on this forum about strip clubs etc and it not being suitable for kids. They're hidden away. The girls (boys?) don't parade down the streets, or hang around outside. If you don't want that sort of entertainment, you don't have to go in there! There's little point paying lots of money to go to a huge French ski area if you're only going to use the nursery slopes. In ...

There's little point paying lots of money to go to a huge French ski area if you're only going to use the nursery slopes. In Borovets, most beginners will be skiing the whole resort by the end of the week (bar a few runs) and will feel they've achieved something. Bulgaria has a lot of other aspects too. Most people going there have probably not been to eastern Europe before so it's interesting to see a bit of the countryside and how people live too. It's so different to western Europe.

re: TRUE PRICES IN BOROVETS!!!

If you/we discuss how expensive or cheao something is , one should never forget that Borovets is a Bulgarian ski resort , which means also to be used by Bulgarians. You only need a few hands to cout them. Do you believe they don't like it anymore ? We have a lot of friends who would like to spend some days in their resort but they can't afford . Look at the average income ( we sometimes spend it on one day) or the average pension ( we need it for paying one dinner bill !!! ). Its the ...

I hope no Bulgarians read our discussion about Borovets or the other resorts being cheap. It may drive them crazy.

re: TRUE PRICES IN BOROVETS!!!

Most Bulgarian skiers take their winter vacations in Austria - its relatively cheaper because of the greater ski area and self catering is cheap anywhere.
