Transfer on 13/2 Thessaloniki to Bansko

We fly into Thessalonki on 13th Feb from Gatwick with easy jet, think we get in around lunch time. Anyone want to share a transfer or can anyone recommend a transfer company to use to get to Bansko? Thank you!

Hi Emma - just curious - err - why are you flying to Thess? Most people only end up there when they are diverted and then complain about it

You might well ask! A friend recommended it- best flight times and cheaper- now i realise why! Although seems quite a lot of people do it do must be possible.. just need to get a transfer sorted...

Hmmm - interesting. As I say - the only time it is mentioned on here is when the planes can't land in Sofia because of bad weather so they divert there!

I know of many transfers from Sofia but sorry - none from Thess. Hopefully someone else on here may have more helpful info. Good luck.

247 miles - at least 5 hours I would imagine.

Problem with transfer is you are travelling from one country to another(stating the obvious) but that may restrict your options.

I came across a forum talkbankso discussing transfer from thess to bansko. There are details about transfer on it. U will have to search through it though.

I was diverted to Thelasonika on the way out, journey time from there to Borovets by coach was about 5 hours so Bansko should be quicker as it's nearer to Greece than Borovets. However as Pete points out you're going across a national border. It was a TO trip and there was no passport check. Did the TO and airline explain everything to border control to avoid passport checks? I don't know.

there must be busses from there going to Sofia. Get off in Simitli and I know there are buses from there to Bansko, or get a Taxi from there that should be about 70 leva maximum.

I have been on the train between there and Sofia, but do not try it it is nearly 12 hours
