What is it like for family ski in Bulgaria??

Hi there!
I would love to ski next eyar with my family but find that the only week they are off school is feb 9th and everything is so expensive. (We are 5)
Bulgaria is not so expensive and it looks good. I have looked around on some fora and they have not been so kind about it so now I am nervous to book it!! Can you help me out? We have a four year old, what does she do? An eleven year old who want to snowboard and an eight year old who is an intermediate.
Help help help!!!
Thanks
jon

would a week out of school the week before or after the school holiday make much differance to their education whilst still so young, its not like they are taking their GCSE's right now, is it ? doing that could save you around £500 to £1000. Only a suggestion, you know best when it comes to that. Brian

Hi there Brian
Thanks for that! I know about the school thing but we felt quite unconfortable about it last year as there were reprecussions so that is why we in a fix!
So you reckon to stay self catering would be better than booking a hotel? The thoughts of trying to cook after skiing all day is not good!
Thanks for your advice

Definately don't do self catering. Its sooooo cheap to eat out and much less of "same sh...t different four walls" for the chef - ie probably your wife!! Its her holiday too.

re: What is it like for family ski in Bulgaria??

what i was saying was, that you should eat out every evening in diferent places, but eat breakfast in hotel as they do cereals, toast jams coffee fruit juice etc. i would never advise anyone to self cater no matter where you are in the world because what Snowtox says is spot on, its your holiday and you dont cook ! Good luck . briam

re: What is it like for family ski in Bulgaria??

Hi Brian
I understand what you are saying and of course we don't want to cook but most of the hotels are half board and we cant afford to pay for half board and then pay again for eating out??? Am I picking this up all wrong??
