re: Which Resort?

oh, and if you can fly Ryan Air from Stansted to Plovdiv then the transfer is not long - about 1.5 hours.

re: Which Resort?

About 1 and a half hour transfer BUT plus another minimum hour to be more correct. Unless you drive in the night and the roads are bone dry which they are never.
I don't see it happening for 90 minutes Plovdiv-Pamporovo, unless you are ex car racer like Maybe Fitipaldi! Smile
We all want shorter transfers to out beloved resort but distances can not shorten phisicaly unless you have a nap on the way and miss half of it. Smile

re: Which Resort?

That's odd - I've done Plovdiv to Pamporovo over 20 times and it's always taken approximately 1 hour 30 minutes.

Mikey you need to buy a new car!

re: Which Resort?

Yep - I did Pamps to Plovdiv in 1hr.15 on snow free roads and in summer conditions and I'm not a racing driver. During winter I allow 1h30 hours if conditions reasonable and if heavy snow then it takes what it takes.
Sofia to Pamps allow about 4hrs in wintery conditions - significantly less if snow free conditions.

Snezhanka to Milena depot takes 5-10 minutes. Is it ok to say that? (seeing as 2 weeks ago there was one day when it took 30 minutes due to the road being blocked with ...

I have always tried to be honest with what I tell people on here Mikey.

re: Which Resort?

Thanks for all of you who have taken the time to post. As i suspected there is a mix of opinion but i guess that to be expected people are different and want different things. Bansko is i am sure a great place to go - it may have some obvious drawbacks such as the gondola issues and the lack of the fairytale feel but on the plus side its a proper town with broader facilities. Vets seems to be a good balance and has the advantage of a short transfer time but maybe the facilities for Snowboarders aren't as good. Pamps sounds really nice but unfortunately i cant get there from Bristol easily (and for a good price). I'm sure whichever i choose i will enjoy and as i have no comparison i wont know what i'm missing!

All of the 3 BG resorts are fine at the moment so there is no much to choose.
