Sadly I agree with you Jonah. I don't think it is great, I think it was great. I am looking forward to going next week in the hope that things will change and looking forward to seeing those that enabled a tourist to ski with style.
I won't abandon my friends in Pamporovo but unfortunately, every year I return several are no longer there. This year may, regrettably be my last.
Prices dont bother me at all, we tend to go to Smolyan for meals + drinks or stay at the restaurant at our complex (Forest Nook) - however the snow conditions are a real worry + next year I will be tempted to book a flight last minute when I know the snow is OK. Will be interesting to see if the Perelik projet is revived/speeded up as the snow cover is muh better up there
Have done several times. Took the family to Bansko last Christmas and had a great time but not enough slopes were open for me. A bit spaced out but good snow on the slopes that were. bansko...enjoyed the long runs but a bugger at the bottom when you had to go somewhere else.
Pamporovo suits younger kids and we have brought them there for 30 years (personally 17 years), so I guess its what you know best.
The great thing about Bulgaria is the people and by that I mean the real people.
No from me too. Been twice but don't think I'd go again. It's a nice place but not that great. Without good snow or the competative price edge there really is no selling point.
No, just returned from a late deal to Italy, not as nice as Bansko but amazing snow conditions and that is the single important factor in my winter holiday. Next year Bansko only if conditions are good.
Negativity, great thing, good British pastime, initially read this post and thought lot of **** and wasn't going to give it time of day. There is always somebody trying to make a fast buck or two then mother nature can always throw in a low bowler wherever you go, life is life get on with it.
