re: melting snow !

Just got back from Borovets, day 1 - minus 13 outside the Riga Hotel, day 5 plus 12 degrees in the same place so quite a bit of melting snow but this was only at this level. I had my first ever ski lesson and was totally crap (the sight of everyone's face as I hurtled towards them as they were drinking hot chocolate was something I will chuckle over forever!) I know I am a 'virgin' but from what the ski instructor and others at the resort said there will be lots of snow for decent skiing ...

re: melting snow !

If you say the snow is getting slushy late afternoon, then surely the logic would be to start your ski day earlier, and finish earlier Exclamation Exclamation

re: melting snow !

No I didn't mean early in the day, it was different days. We got there Sunday and it was -13. On the day we left it was 12 degrees and sunny so by the time we left it was melting and brown slush was running down the streets. Being a novice I only had one lesson for 2 hours on the Tues so am not qualified to even know what I was talking about, I was merely passing on information as told to me by those in the know!
We have just bought a place out there so I really need to learn, fast! Very Happy
