never again too

recently returned from Borovets and cannot understand how anyone thinks it's great, you can only think this if you have never been anywhere else ,the place is a dump, skiing so limited it's a joke,I have noticed on this site that people are commenting on general disrepair of place
France for me ,no comparison and yes prices a lot more but well worth it.

re: never again too

depending on your skill level then yes the pistes in Boro are limited but the welcome and friendlyness of the bulgarians moves it far far out in front of the french etc

re: never again too

Stevie I am thinking about trying france I have just paid £750 (not a cancellation or late booking) for 2 half board 40metres away from the gondola, 2 ski passes and one ski carriage, How would france compare to this? Question

re: never again too

Stevie, you should have gone to Bansko, from what I hear the skiing is a lot better than Boro / Pamps (if not the apres ski). I don't think you could argue about the skiing being much better in France, but for me I'd rather go to Bansko every year than France every other year. Also the pistes are a lot less busy, and Bulgaria has much more charm than France.

re: never again too

Bob, as a general rule (in my experience) Bulgaria is about half the cost of France, if you include the total cost of the holiday (inluding spending money whilst out there).

re: never again too

everything you all say about cost is true I accept but whats the point if there is hardly anywhere to ski, when Gondola shut even worse ,also yes drinks etc cheap but lots of people on the make and I didn't appreciate being 'propositioned' in front of my kids

yes when the gondola is shut then it can cause some problems but its for safety that its shut, you can still get skidoos and taxis up the mountain to ski /board down

couple beggers on the streets but they not on the make

im sorry your holiday wasnt good for others it is, we love it and i myself prefer it to france swiss, etc but thats my choice

re: never again too

Stevie, well comparing Bansko with the 3 Valleys in France, you get about 10 times the ski area in France (600km against 65km) for about double the cost. Which you think is better value is up to you, but if you go to the 3 Valleys you're never going to be able to ski every run in a week, however good you are, it's just too big. Having said that, I've been to Bansko two years in a row now, and next year I think I would like a change...
