hi all
have been skiing to many resorts in europe & usa. when compared to other resorts, taking into consideration costs etc., i think that bansko is pretty much on a par with the other resorts i have been to.
sure, its obvious that other resorts in france or colarodo have more variety of skiing, but when we skiied colorado, the lift pass was nearly the same price as my entire holiday to bansko.

the atmosphere while eating out in the mehanas is far better than anywhere else i have been. the only problem we have had is that there are some people that u meet which can come across as pretty rude, while collecting rental skis for example, more so than other resorts we have been to. but i think that this will improve as bulgarians get used to the larger influx of tourists during the ski season.
could you please tell me how you arranged the horse riding in Bansko,we have been the last 2 seasons but didnt know about the horserides in the winter..thanks,ps..we arrive on sunday.
Hi Phil, the riding was lovely. Our hotelier James from the Avalon Hotel arranged it for us towards the other side of Razlog. He is English but speaks Bulagarian so took us out there, as they don't speak English. The man who wons the horses is so lovely and a ccouple of them from the satbles came out with us to show us a nice route. The Avalon hotel is a lovely hotel. I could think of anywhere any better and friendlier to stay. When the mountain was shut last week, he also sorted out ...

When the mountain was shut last week, he also sorted out for all the people staying with him to go over to dobrinitze to ski too, which was really good of him. if you get chance to stay there I'm sure James would arrange for you.
