Today i met with Keith and Ellen on the final day of their holiday. What a wounderful couple and a pleasure to meet. They presented me with a huge bag of warm nclothes for the children. i took two of the children with me to say hello. They were Gabbi - aged 12 - and Galina -aged 14. These two girls are very close to my family and I.
Mrsp, thank you for your enquiry. I am not in favour of too many visits to any orphanage as it is not always good to introduce strangers on a regular basis for obvious reasons. Meeting strangers can be a stressful time for these children. However, i am sure you want more than to just look around and if you are willing to spend several hours giving the children your undivided attention, i would be more than willing to facilitate a visit. I thank you for your interest in the children and look forward to hearing further from you before your up and coming visit.
Amanda I can offer my time for a week. . .will be in Pamps from 12th Jan staying at Murgavets Hotel I will not be skiing. .. .I am also bringing money for the heating fund and clothing etc for the children. . .i will ring you when I arrive.. . I understand what you say about strangers visiting. .. I will leave it to your decision I have worked with vulnerable children for many years ans would love to give my time to these children.
That sounds great, Jasmin would be pleased to have a helping hand. would you mind entering monies for the heating fund directly into the escrow account? the details are on the site. i very much look forward to meeting you x
Today I had a special day with Gabbie aged 12 and her sister Galina aged 14, we all went skiing together with my family, we had great fun, we later went to meet Ellen and Keith in Pamporovo. We had dinner at my house and then played a round of frustration and I am pleased to report that I won, both girls tried to beat me up after but I survived the ordeal. The girls enjoyed playing pool. We all had a great day full of laughter usually at my expense, these girls are full of spirit, my only regret is that the day had to end. Gabbie is leaning English and Galina is learning Russian. I am very close to the girls, when I returned them safely back at 10pm the girls clung so tight and cried as they had to say good night the girls asked if I could be there Mum, I replied “being their Mum would mean that I have to tell them to go to bed and be strict at times which is not fun, I asked if we could be best friends, as this way we can have lots of fun always” I would love these girls to join my family but after 15 children I have to stop taking more in, but where I lack the room in my house, I do have room in my heart for them.
Amanda I have £200 pound up to now but am still collecting . .. . is it ok to wait till very last minute before we arrive because i am sure we will get much more. . .. is it ok to just bring it with us . .. .if not i will put it into the escrow account.. . .but not sure how to do this. .. not very good with computers. .. .
Still waiting for Lloyds Bank to get back to me with a balance. It's because there are so many different currencies the bank will only change them once they have a sufficent amount of a particular curency to do so.
I do know that it is well over £200 but how much over is still unknown.
Today started of well, I had family time with our own children, I then went to see the children at the orphanage and hand out the warm clothes that Ellen and Keith had donated, As Douglas, Michael and I drove in Gabbie had seen us and ran out, unfortunately she fell on the ice, she screamed in pain, it was clear that her leg was broken at the top, she was rushed to Smolyan hospital. A few hours later Jasmin informed me that the staff had left 12 year old Gabbie alone, Doug and I rushed to get Galina her sister and went to the hospital. Gabbie was clearly n pain and had a cast all the way up her leg, her little face brightened up when she saw us, we stayed until half an hour ago 7pm, she will remain in hospital until the morning. I will have o have her at my house as Jasmin leaves for a few days and I don’t believe that she will be taken care of, I have convinced the director to allow Gabbie and her sister remain with e until Jasmin returns. It was those stupid little shoes with no grip, but she had no others, we must really try and rise money for boots for these children. I have not had time to eat today as caring for Gabbie took over our day, I am due to collect her in the morning and will up-date you on her well being x
