thank you for your help. I have just suggested that Amanda puts a list of real Essentials - when she has time She is meeting somebody today who may be able to help us. She was emailing Andie and I well into the early hours - I dont know where she gets her energy from and yes, I agree, she is a wonderful person. She has been financing these children out of her own pocket and you can see income & expenditure on www.orphanagestoikite-bg.org.

Amanda will post a reply with a list of urgently needed items - Anyone who has lots of space in their case (not many I suppose) blankets or duvets are needed - they get very damp and Amanda is always taking them home to dry out.

A good suggestion. The problem is that we are not a registered charity - AS Yet. We could look into this.

The escrow account is held by a well known lawyer and will only be used for the heating fund.

If you want to buy something for the children you could always email Amanda and pay into her account - she will obviously keep receipts, etc. This is of course having to trust her, but I think if we cant trust her to spend your money on the children then we cant trust anybody!

Pamporovo Pete is also collecting for us , but I think this money will be for the much needed heating fund.

I am proud of every one that has has done thie bit to help but we are a long way off having the much needed heating fund. items in need are as follows:

toiletries these are ongoing items
sweaters
long johns
thermal long sleeved vests
flannelette pyjamas (primark are great)
jeans
plasters
head lice lotion
boots sizes, 5, 6, 7, 8 and a couple size 9
nothing will go to waste as there are many other Orphanages if we have surplus

Today i met up with Oracle from another forum, i was unsure what to expect as i have found her to be very blunt at times on the forum and thought she would be really bossy. how wrong could i have been i could not believe what a breath of fresh air she was not only knowledgable, intelligent but very considerate and more than helpful, she has given me the confidence to really try and make a difference to many Orphanages not just one and i know that she will help and give as much support as she can, i will prepare a strat plan and present it to the right people whom can make decisions with Oracles contacts and support i really think that the future for many of Bulgaria's less fortunate children could be made bright and we will all become apart of that. Ill up-date you on all progress in due coarse and inform you how we can all pull together to help.

Well back to the Orphanage in Stoikite, Today i met Peter Wilson, his lovely wife and two beautiful young girls after spending what they described as a fab time skiing in Borevetts, they were kind enough to bring a suitcase full of goodies for the children which included 4 pairs of wonderful strong, warm boots and very trendy i must say also a ski jacket, socks, sweaters, toiletries, teashirts, trousers, scarves ect oh and chocs for the children, when they said chocs i hoped it was not Galaxy as this i do not think i could be trusted to deliver to the children, thankfully no Galaxy i think that this should be a warning, don't trust me with Galaxy, I will travel to the mountains tomorrow evening and pass on these lovely gifts. My faith in the Human race is really being restored, today was a great day and i hope for a good future for many children. to quote a wise and intelligent lady "we probably can't change the world, but this does not diminish the value of the effort.

Gabbie's doing well, but a little fed up. I am trying to locate the grain we need to make the bags to give heat to the children, but i was unsuccessful today, i tried hit super market, any ideas let me know. I was thinking that many of these children will be faces with independent living before to long and we need to get some kind of training to enable them to learn skills, i will make more enquiries your thoughts are welcomed.

Leaving unwanted items behind is great , especially as a lot of it will be for warmth.

Glynis - people have asked this and it does seem sensible but would not be allowed by the airport for security reasons.

Please remember there are 2 drop off points in Pamporovo and Smolyan. Amanda is opening her office this Tuesday from 11 am to 12 for drop offs. - info on this on www.orphanagestoikite-bg.org
When physically possible Amanda or Doug will always meet people at the airport to take donations.
