Snow on the mountains Steve C. ?
- Let them start the piste prepairing machines and get to work. Start a training for the lift staff; "how to clean a chairlift seat', so at Christmass I don't have to sit my as on ice.

Pamporovo Pe; it's "Sankt Moritz".

Have a nice time everybody.

St ??, Sankt ??, Saint ??, San ?? Moritz Confused All means the same...
Rather portly middleaged people in designer ski wear sporting hand made skis (anyone remember `Pre' ??), a splattering of purists still wearing lace up boots and wooden skis.... and of course, Roger Moore.... Completely overated, overpriced and overendowed (not Roger Surprised) with megga rich, who are to good to attend ski school, and lounge around the expensive bars all day...

Granted, only my opinion, and as i know nothing, ...

Actually when i come to think of it, the skis were `Lacroix', handmade in Switzerland... Check out `Zai' handmade skis, another Swiss producer, equally expensive and well badged so everyone knows you are rich...
It was me that had a set of `Pre's', a forerunner of the K2 which i eventually bought, the `Triaxial' was a fantastic ski which definately delivered, and was also used by Glenn Plake (mohawk skier) at the time.
Talking of name dropping, my mate Kiwi was in conversation with Glenn ...

Talking of name dropping, my mate Kiwi was in conversation with Glenn in Chamonix a little while ago over the pros and cons of fat skis, Glenns not a fan still preferring the long traditional ski, he can comment as he is an experienced skier Wink

I've digressed (get your dictionary out Mikey), just reminiscing Smile

The 'its Bulgaria not St Moritz' mentally that accepts poor service and standards is what keeps this place at the bottom of the pile - it costs almost nothing to have staff in for a few weeks before the season to teach them how to be pleasant functional human beings, a few dismissals for poor service 'pour encourager les autres' at the beginning of the season and before long people will be saying 'Bulgaria - not massive pistes or great food but nice people making the most of what they have. ...

Start a training for the lift staff; "how to clean a chairlift seat', so at Christmass I don't have to sit my as on ice.

Lean to the right to raise left butt cheek, brush/rip away ice/snow with left hand. Then lean to left to raise right butt cheek, brush/rip away ice/snow using right hand.

Do people need sherpas to carry their skis for them to the lift station? It's reaching the point when it seems like people need someone to wipe their own a$$es for them. I've skied in France and this service was not offered in the Mountain restaurants. They should because after all I paid to ski there and spent my money in the restaurant.

A homogenised product across the industry, any industry is no good for consumer choice or variety. In England you can if you like eat from cheapo fast food joints or go to Michelin star restos and great gastro pubs. Some of you need to get it into your skulls that not every one wants the same thing all the time. I rarely buy a MaccyDees or anything from those more ethnic fast food joints but now and then I do and I enjoy it because it's different.

Bulgaria is a choice, you are not being sent there against your will.

Well said, never really figured out what it is with people that don't like a place and then spend years on a web site complaining about it. If I don't like a place I move on to some where that I do like and enjoy it.

That's odd - when I Google St. Moritz I get 9,790.000 websites to choose from.

That's an awful lot of mistakes in spelling don't you think Nico Surprised

Or maybe it's you that's wrong Confused

Cool

Nico, So long as waiter doesn't slam the plate down on my table I'm ok with that. How much service a person needs depends on who much pampering they need or how sensitive they are.

'Bulgaria is a choice' Smile

If Bulgaria was like everywhere else with prices to match I'd go somewhere closer to home for the same thing. You've been there 24 years more than I have, so clearly what's there currently has been good enough to earn your money for 25 years. Every small difference I ...

re: skiing for experienced skiers

I have never really got the whole "Bulgarians are grumpy" thing.

I have always found them to be pretty fun and friendly people, both in Borovets and sunny Beach. I have met a few tourists who have complained about them being grumpy whilst I have been there, but after a few hours in their company i soon come to realise that it is them who a really the miserable b@rst@rds.
