what to eat when skiing

Is it me ?,
or is a bowl of bob soup with grilled local bread and a brandy-hot chocolate the best lunch when on the mountain.
Nothing warm the old toes better

36 days to go.

I must confess i love Greek Gyros, with tzatziki.... and chilli sauce Razz... The Gyros here in Bansko is pretty similar, without the tzatziki, but you can add it as its available here as well...
To answer your question David, the Gyros here is also called kebab, pieces of chicken cut from a skewer, chips (normally cold), salad (cucumber, coleslaw, tomatoe etc), garlic sauce, chilli sauce... all in a bread wrap... Look after your local Gyros seller and he will look after you Wink

hot potatoes, onions, tomatoes, tzatziki (yogurt with cucumber and garlic) in bread wrab, very tasty!!!!!!!!!

I don't know why but we cannot get Gyros/kebab here in the summer ???? Almost prompts me to drive down to Greece to get the real thing Razz We can though get all the ingrediants, save the bread wrap, in a split bread or roll (huge !!), and to my mind the best is from the takeaway cafe at the back of the square beside the market... 2.80lv, just ask for a chicken sandwich, meal in itself Booze...

Sounds fantastic, especially the onions and tzatziki.
Can you ask for them without the meat, or is this considered unmanly ?

Make your own Steve - we always do! I can give you the tzatziki recipe (22yrs living in Greece). Greek hubby loves the crappy red hot donor kebabs they serve in UK (after a heavy pub crawl) - was not fun sleeping next to him that night!
