Not holding my breath that it will be anytime soon, think it might be a bit optimistic expecting to rent out your apartment much next year unless you do a brilliant sales pitch. Too many hotels etc offering good deals.
Realistically think about five years down the line before we see things really moving, thats if they do something about all the half builds around at the moment.
I guess you should be a bit safer if you have an apartment within a hotel. Hopefully the good hotel deals will utilise your apartment.
I've been looking at bower homes site and there have been a few sales recently, although at quite low prices - 400euros to 1000euros per square metre. Hopefully this will push up a bit when sterling recovers and the world recession goes away.
Fingers crossed for more runs and a new lift, Olympics bid would also help!
Having just visited the Pirin Golf and Country development with a couple of friends who were in town their observation made me think...
The comment was made that it was good to see all the roads made up, the paths complete even with bins and benchs and the area landscaped. There is still building going on but it does not detract from the overall feel of the place, infact it gives any prospective buyer a much better idea and possibly more confidence.

If you compare to what is happening in Bansko where the building site feel still exists, poor or no roads, piles of builders rubbish, no direction in the way of landscaping and no attention to paths or access, it is no wonder that on top of the market collapse, to market any apartment is difficult. In my opinion (for what its worth) the actual design of most apartment blocks are congenial to an alpine resort, there perhaps is to heavy a density in some parts, but that apart they look good. Unfortunately with the `feel' of the surrounding areas it detracts from the buildings and any buyer seems to concentrate on their unfinished state and the fact that no area at all seems to be complete. Now, how this can be sorted out ?? or will it ever be sorted ?? Bansko could be a jewel if attention was made to detail, its this thats makes a property marketable, and more importantly breeds confidence in buyers that they are investing in something that is solid and improving. New runs, maybe... new gondola, perhaps... olympic bid, silly but who knows ?? but tidying up ?? and thats all we are talking about really, surely thats possible
I know where you are coming from Steve, I'm pleased that we have invested (even if its not complete yet) around the golf course development and not in Bansko itself.
I have been in touch with the developer recently and they are marketing the apartments in places not so affected by the crisis, they seem to be having cautious but steady success in Russia and Greece, so at least the developer is doing something constructive.
A new gondola would be helpful, talk of it has been circulating ...

I definately get the 'alpine feel' with the design of the buildings.
Interesting comments from the people who have been out there.
I know of a chap who told his accountant to hand the keys of his 4 apartments in Bansko back to the Bulgarian bank. His end of year figures were always the wrong side of zero.
I would assume that this isnt an isolated case.
I don't know if you are aware, but planning has apparently been granted for a new resort with Gondola already. I'm not sure of the exact location, but think it will be further down past Pirin Golf course...... great for those of us in that area. Also understand that although there is talk of updating the military airfield locally, to accept International flts, with elections looming in Bulgaria, this is on hold (planning application) until the election is over and the new Govt has settled in.
Can't really help with more than that. This information was from the Bulgarian chap running our accomodation last week (hopefully he has his facts right). Best of luck. Lizzo
The talk is of the expanding the existing skiing at Kulinoto, just two pomas at present. Its approximately 7km from Bansko adjacent to Predel. If we are to discuss rumours then Dobriniste 5km in the opposite direction has also submitted plans to expand their skiing. Both schemes require serious investment and on that note perhaps the present financial climate will be a major factor...

Regarding the old military airfield on the way to Gotse Delchev, planning may be available but the CAA are unlikely to award clearance for commercial flights...
'The talk'. You're so full of ****. Kulinoto has already been rejected by the MoE last year as is well known and has been well reported. Stop teasing people with fantasies.
