Good review. When I reported last week my one big gripe was the management of the slopes as all the rest can be sorted with a little bit of checking out but if the snow is not managed properly you cant do a lot about it. They need to get their act together in this respect and it would vastly improve the resort.

Everyone has their opinions having. read all above, the main gripe is piste managment but unless mother nature gives them something to piste with. Hopefully the resevoir will be completed for next season, on the ystrebets slopes the snow cannons helped that side of the mountain at least.
I have been going to Borovets 10yrs + and always find some where to ski.
snow plough/dbut - you lucky lucky lucky people. Where are you going in Canada?
Banff is fantastic, nice town, great people, huge steaks with great powder on the mountain.
Calgary - Worth a day to test out the single run (next to the famous bob sleigh run the Jamaicans did - Cool Runnings) Calgary City is also great to see. Try the fox and furkin pub!
Quebec (Stoneham) (Le Massif) (Mont St Anne) all great and varied skiing with fantastic views. Le Massif especially as the transport ...

DontTrustTheCam, I do doubt the authenticity of your report so yeah I do question you. 'Moguls' throughout the resort - not in my experience. Very few skiiers ski the red Yastrebet 1 run let alone the unconnected ones so I do wonder how the 'moguls' throughout the resort comment is based on reality.
First time out there . Me and snowplough decided we would go before we needed zimmer frames mounting on our skis. well me especially after the wipeout I had in boro this year.

A fair report I'm afraid. We went over Xmas and did enjoy the holiday as there was lots to do and found the Iglika OK. But the piste management is appalling to the point of being dangerous.
As a family with 4 kids the decision to go to Boro was mainly financial but we found Boro to be only marginally cheaper than the resorts we usually go to in Italy. You dont have to spend huge amounts in the Alps if you pick your resort carefully.

As someone else has said on here the cost/quality equation does not quite work so this weekend we are back to Crevacol in Italy where it will be quieter but the at least the snow is properly managed.
dbut - Be sure to give us a report on your return. Canadians are fantastic people and fanatics about skiing. Some of the best off piste/powder instructors in the world so definitly try a guided tour.
Keep an eye out for the chipmunks chattering to each other in the trees - very cool and when off piste the dens that grizzlies dig out for winter - usually below trees.
