DaringRed - what is your problem. You have showed yourself to be a troll and doubting thomas. You have hijacked this thread for your own means. Time to go and annoy another thread as you clearly are an arguementative old sod with nothing better to do. You have lost the battle dude. Proved myself at every single count, yet you persist.
DontTrustTheCam
Nowt wrong with old sods He'He'. Next time im in Boro ill be 60 and can still wipe out with the best of them. nobody in their description mentioned where they had built the dam which totally messed up the line I had been used to causing me to wipe out at the bottom of the second hill trying to turn back up to the cafe. So will you please include these things to help out us old timers.
dbut
This is the gayest thread I have ever read on the internet. One bloke trying to post an honest opinion and two utter tossers with nothing better to do than troll him. Get lives and contribute something worth while or sod off.
Sorry people - my initial post to start this thread was a personal account and only intended as such. It wasnt to dis boro, it wasnt to brag about experience - purely a realisttic account of my experience.
I expected opinion to differ, as does life, but i never expected to find such a fool wanting the ins and out of a ducks arse - with no apparent means to an end?
dbut - Im only 40 and i cant keep up with the kids anymore. Hope im still at it at 60 and i hope i still have enough of the ...

DontTrustTheCam, You only managed to describe the first 1/4 of the piste which can be gleaned from the piste map and photos available on this web. Despite your believe you've proved me wrong, all you did was post a whole list of other points whilst avoiding the original question.
ian W, It doesn't look like DontT'T'Cam will answer the question. So firstly Yas' 1 is labelled as a red however when you exit the chairlift my observations were

ian W, It doesn't look like DontT'T'Cam will answer the question. So firstly Yas' 1 is labelled as a red however when you exit the chairlift my observations were
1) this red isn't at all steep- infact the two blues right in front on the Rila were steeper by a big margin than this part of the piste
2) The piste is so wide you could easily run 7 traffic lanes along it at the point along side the chairlift. From the piste map we can see the chairlift is on the right of the Yas' 1 piste. What is doesn't show you is that you officially offload when the chairlift turns left, this can confuse novices because they might think they missed the chance to get off in the uunloading area.
So off I go and past the right hand exit to the mid-station. So far the gradient has been gentle and point 1 still holds true.
Keep going then it gets steeper, now maybe as steep as the blues right infront of the Rila. Roughly at this point the big summer house style bar/cafe can be seen on the left hand side of the piste. The area around the bar cafe is flat as is the entire adjacent area of piste so build up speed on the steeper bit before the bar if you want avoid polling along the flat.
Keep going and then we reach the only part of the piste I would describe as a genuine red in gradient. It's the part just before the left hand path to the chairlift which takes you back up the piste. Although it's steeper there's no noticable camber and the section is very short, less than 100m from memory.
Bit confused on that like red!(what did the billboards advertise again?) but to be honest DDTC has given me enough cred to say hes been there- and to be honest who really gives a ...at a post as long as this!- move on!
ian, This was DTTC's description about the remaining 3/4 of the piste
'Last 3/4 of run ...............mmmmmmmmm
trees and ice and fog - more trees ice and fog - fresh air and oh snow blowers.'
Compare that to what I wrote, the details about the piste, DTTC didn't really say much or anything specific about it.
After being charged 6 lev for a coke at the bar left of the Markudjik blue run poma lift as you ski down the piste I didn't stop at the Yas 1 bar for something to eat so no I ...

After being charged 6 lev for a coke at the bar left of the Markudjik blue run poma lift as you ski down the piste I didn't stop at the Yas 1 bar for something to eat so no I wouldn't have noticed the writing on any advertising hording there. I do however recall the outdoor seating was on a raised patio deck, about a 1 foot high.
ian, One of our ski party was charged 5 lev the day before at the same bar. Is that a good way to do business? Not to me. The guys there can charge whatever they want. 6 levs....5 levs, at the then exchange rate I wasn't going to quibble over effectively 40p because I was on holiday, don't speak Bulgarian apart from a few phrases and they may have adopted the "don't speech english" stance had I queried them. For 40p on a holiday it wasn't worth my effort.
Lets all say just move on! everyones been there and we all have mixed experiences of it- but them reds are quite good at speed though!- even with a bit of ice!
