As long as your going down the white stuff as best as you can it don't matter what your stood on. I bet no one give up a go on a bumboard, It's all about having fun. We're all kids at the end of the day.
one deciding factor to the skiing/ boarding arguement. POWDER. there is no way that skiing can be as enjoyable in the pow pow, no freakin way. its what boards are for. think about it!!!!!
For just 1 week i would say ski. If you learn to ski, you will learn much faster to snowboard later. Here in Norway the first thing you learn as a kid is cross country skiing, and then you learn the rest, but in just 1 week it would have to be slalom.
Good luck.
Why is everyone saying you only get 3 lessons or just 2 hours a day?
It just depend who you book with. I've done two packages where you get morning and afternoons everyday.

I have never boarded only skied,I think the boarders seem to not be able to slow down well(thats only my experiance)skiing is easy and really easy to learn. Also it must be a pain having to unstap and restrap your boots all the times to go on the lifts, seems like real hard work!Ithink the whole look of boarding is real cool but i would start to ski first.
