Okay, I was having discussions with my mates today (who are heading over to Bnakso with me for new years) We've all never skied/snow boarded before - but we got into the skiing or boarding debate? Ive been told skiing is the better of the two, BUt they want to snowboard - What would you recommend for beginners, or is a week long enough to do a bit of both???
I do both, there are pros and cons for both. If you haven't done either I would say ski for the week andhave a snowboard taster about Wednesday just to try it. In my opinion trying to learn two new sports in a week would be a big challenge and you wouldn't get much out of it.
Without a doubt, boarding..
It's much more fun..
It may be harder to get to grips with, but it is well worth it...Get a couple of lessons, and don't be disheartned by the amount of time you're gonna spend on your a**, just get up and keep going..
Boarding all the way - remember, boarding is not just for Christmas, boarding for life
definitely board. This will be my 3rd year boarding in pamps, and i've never skied. Such a buzz, when u get up and moving the first time - and the many falls on ur ass make it more fun!!! especially if its a group of friends together!!!
I've done both, can ski well and snowboard ok. I would recommend you ski as it is your first time in the snow. It takes more effort to get started and i think it is something that if you don't do now you never will. While I much prefer to board I think skiing gave me the confidence in the snow to snowboard, and get through the bloody pain of the first few days.
