What is it like there in the summer? I appreciate its going to be quiet but is there a slow but growing move towards mountain bikeing? (like in the Alps) and do any of the shops and restaurants stay open? i was thinking of coming over and staying in our apartment for a week or so. I have 3 kids aged 9, 7 and 4 so am also thinking about activities for them.
We enjoy walking but wondered if there were local lakes you could go swimming in? pony trekking? are there any bike hire places?
M - Andie (from the orphanage) is the person to talk to. She lives out there as much as possible and is now having a house built in the area. Her granddaughter visits her so she knows all the places to go.
You can wait for her to see this or try emailing her. Find a posting from her on another thread and click on her name, if it is in blue.
I know biking and horse riding can be found in the area but don't have any numbers.
We head out there in the summer too. It's great, very peaceful and beautiful up the top of the mountain. We spent time painting up there last year as Nicky had some paints for xmas. My painting was quite poor but the kids loved it. Two lifts are usually open and so is the restaurant in the top of the tower.
Trips to the caves is a must as is Stoykite and Shroka luka. Mountain bikes can be hired from the Mourgavets and there is now go karting and paintballing near to The Castle
