Hey Mattsville, the trick is on tracks like the ski road is not to stay on 1 edge go from heel to toe slowly all the way down, and even try riding switch from time to time far less fo a burn then, i am tired after a good days boarding but no where near the way you explained .
"There are times when I get to the end of a flat section and collapse for a while on the slope!"
The last time I went skiing, I went with a group of boarders, I got sick of waiting around for them doing up their bindings and sitting on their arse thinking about their next. So said to them "see you's back at the chalet tonight, I'm off"
But have to say they left me sitting on off-piste powder!!!
OK then. So we're agreed that it is at least a bit tiring? That's all I'm saying, although for beginners, I thnk side slipping is much more tiring.
What I was describing above was an extreme case - I know those techniques, but sometimes there are flat sections where even going slighly onto an edge will slow you down too much, and unless you jump then switching is absolutely out of the question. All there is to do is crouch and stay perfectly flat, and hope you make it to the next slope. ...

How do you really really make a fit skier lady angry ????? after taking her out , wining and dining her and mkaing love to her all night , look intpo her eyes in the morning ..kiss her forhead and say did i mention im a snowboarder..haha see her bounce off the walls .... picture perfect image ...priceless
ive just figured it out. this hatred of boarders sitting around comes from the fact that skiers cant actually sit down with skis strapped to thier boots. its impossible. so while they pass us by, maybe catch a whiff of a winter warming tipple from boarders hip flasks i can understand its gotta smart a little
As a boarder and skier I can appreciate both sides although at the moment I prefer boarding.
On another note...
Mrs Snowy was getting some money changed yesterday and when the lady at the desk found out we were headingto Bansko she immediately assumed that we were going boarding. It would appear people think of Bansko as a boarders destination, and that skiers go to the alps.
