Bulgaria Ski discussion board

Hi all,
I own an appartment in Paradise View, Sozopol near Bourgas and have the same problem. It was notably rented out last summer and I have not had my "guaranteed" rent. Desi is non-communicative with me too and gives me also the same old story.
Would be interesting to know how Josh managed to get his guaranteed rent?
Our maintenance company is a guy who worked in London a while ago so he might be able to give us some tips regarding legal proceedings and other options. i will keep you posted. Would be very interested in joining an owners group to have more legal power. After all Bulgaria is now in the EU!

I went out there and got it from them in person. Perhaps that's the only way they will hand it over. I might go out there next month and do a recce to see what is going on. Just a thought, I am happy to go out there unannounced, on the assumption that my room is not rented out as they say it never is. However, if it is I would have nowhere for me and the wife to stay so would anyone else let us use their place ( no doubt also supposed to be empty ) if ours was being used? Just trying to think of a way we could check if they are being rented or not if you see what I mean.

If your place is occupied, we have a spare Studio that you can use.

There is definately strength in numbers! It's a little deflating when property prices have fallen and there is little or no chance of a sale - even at reduced prices - and on top of that the rental market has collapsed and the management company are pretty non communicative!
No doubt when i get out there, i will receive a bill for water, heating and general maintenance, just to top it all off.

Maybe we can take this discussion off line and help each other.

Do you have any tips on whay makes them tick? I went there in person too and wished I'd had a big bouncer with me or similar but in the abssence of such all I got was "...I will soon contact you ...". I probably should just have stayed in the office and get locked in until they pay. Did you wave a lawyers business card?

Thanks for your offer. Possibly, if you see any English speaking legal firms you could provide us with a contact? That might be a way of speeding up their payment. Who knows how much longer they will last. They can't have gotten much sales in in the last year. So it would be nice to be at the front of the queue.


Might be worth forming a "Greenlife Property Owner Bulgaria"-Forum. Perhaps a group on Linked-in?

OK. Will check your apartment with both the reception and knocking on the door/listening etc.

However, being there last year over the Christmas/New Year, it seems that they want the rental of rooms for the locals who are on vacation over this period. The rest of the time there is little demand due to the 'overall' lack of demand and the lack of facilities compared to the competition.

Furthermore, i think they wanted to tie up with a tour operator - i think that has fallen through as well - probably due to the lack of facilities and again, overall demand.
