it varies.. last year we went out the first week of Feb. year before was in Jan. this year we're out in March but thats more to do with getting time off from work than anything else.
So an unbiased opinion would be one that agrees with you then? I am unbiased I go for a holiday I like it. I give not a toss if no one else does. You must have liked it last year to go back again.
We get it Jason snow was crap we know sorry about that nothing that we can do.
Right then, having just got in from working lets set a reply to jason cumberland's opinion..
No, i have no financial interest here other than choosing to live here and work, i do not even own a property here.
The numbers visiting Bansko have increased year on year from right across Europe, and generally the feedback we get is fairly positive. That said we are always interested in complaints, as through these things hopefully can be addressed, and if not then at least any visitor can be ...

The numbers visiting Bansko have increased year on year from right across Europe, and generally the feedback we get is fairly positive. That said we are always interested in complaints, as through these things hopefully can be addressed, and if not then at least any visitor can be made aware of pitfalls. I am not so naive to believe that Bansko is perfect, even if accused of looking through rose coloured specs, the resort in its present form is less than 10 years old, and the whole operation is off the back of a country and businesses only 20 years out of communism. What there is here is potential, to provide skiing on a budget, for first timers, and in a limited way for better skiers, though what is aimed at the better skiers is the off-piste, which can be incredible...
My main gripe with you Jason is your assumption that the skiing is crap, and all the food is slop, and to this end i will defend Bansko, the skiing can be fantastic, as can the food if you know where to go..
Now, i will totally accept that some of the hotels food is not good, and the mountain restaurants (save for 2) are overpriced and what is offered is not great, personally i would not eat there, choosing to search out locally owned mehanas offering much better value and food.
The snow conditions are poor, exceptionally poor for mid Jan, and it is the main bone of contention with visitors here, and unfortunately little can be done being in the hands of the gods, but poor service, food, prices can be addressed, and to highlight these would be a benefit to people viewing this forum, the end result would be these establishments being struck from UK visitors considerations. Perhaps then those businesses may react, unlikely, but possible. I will be the first to identify any business that i feel has poorly served visitors...
To respond to Louise, it was never my intention to insult, in fact i said i would have headed you in the right direction regarding good food, the reference to Macdonalds was a generality and not aimed at you personally, but you would be surprised the number of times we are asked `does Bansko have Macdonalds'...
Bulgaria is not for all, and to come and have a poor experience is regretful, its unfortunate but true.
To relay bad experiences could perhaps enlighten others, and in that maybe let others avoid disappointment.
Now discuss
