The slalom event was cancelled in Switzerland due to two days of rain and if anyone saw the downhill there was little snow anywhere around the resort apart from the actual run the event was on!!!
Its not just BG that is struggling at the moment - lets just keep hoping for the best people!
P.s - Name the bad resturants and bars in resort so people can avoid them - the owners will soon notice they need to sort it out!!!

also you must visit the snow inn.. If you like football the owner knows more about it than andy gray! Abeit he supports Blackburn
Red lion also good for fish, try the silver bream

Love boro and the kids who like me have skied in the alps with fresh snow want to come back , because they said " the place felt friendly"
Thanks to our rep dinko for finding my partners skis
from my experience of Bansko hotel food, its probably best if you are going down the hotel route of just doing B&B,as there are so many great places to eat without eating in the hotels which is adequate but not great, and there are restaurants to suit all tastes, you just have to know where they are,ive been to Bansko probably 20 times in the last 4 years due to buying there and setting up business there so i have eaten and drank in many of the establishments.

was it not the case last year that guests from the other ski resorts were being shuttled in on coaches because of a lack of snow in those resorts and a healthy covering of snow in Bansko?....if there is no snow, then theres no snow,
Jason what type of food do you like to eat? would you go back to Bansko Jason if there was more snow and you could eat decent food?
I have had three holidays in bansko and one in pamps, two of the hols were over christmas, two in march. last year christmas in bansko the snow was good, not excellent and although I have called Ulen before, the job they did last year once the temps dropped was amazing. one march we had too much snow, yes thats right too much, in some places it was knee deep as it was snowing so heavy.

As for food, we either go self catering or b and b, the stuff hotels put on isnt great. I have eaten at both english style pubs and bulgarian mehens and can safely say I have never eaten slop!!!! I have had really good pizza at the Irish bar, starters two pizzas and deserts with drinks for three people for around 30 leve. its not just because its cheap I ate there it was good food.
I dont agree that the weather last year in Bansko was terrible, could have been better but wasnt that bad, the crowds at christmas and new year were terrible and mountain was not big enough to cope, as a result I would not go again over christmas and new year.
This year I have made my choice to go else where, would I go back to Bansko possibly, but both me and hubby have agreed that the best thing for any resort anywhere is to look around a month before check for a good base and see what deal you can get. No guarentee of snow anywhere, pay your money and take your chances.
martin . i would never say never. i think on the ski side i have out grown the resort. even if it was all open. the food in hotel bansko is just edible . not a luxury. i felt it could offer someone (not me) value for money . it seems a good place to find you feet but the conditions then dont suit that kind of person. people say the best time is feb, but i have only been in jan. i have put my feelings across on these experiences and thats all i can go on
maybe a time to consider is the end of march or early april...we skied Bansko at easter last year,it was fab,no queues, empty runs and the snow was perfect in the mornings...i did ski at xmas just gone, a couple of times and it was not the best, especially on the ski road back to town, very icy,but its just been a shame so far with the lack of snow..saying that i think Bnasko has loads to offer and from the bookings we get lots of families love the place and keep coming back...half term is ...
