Last year (with the lack of snow) i boarded back down the ski road everyday and on my last day gave it everything i had and timed myself, what i want to know is who has done it in the fastest time and maybe as the season is going to start very soon maybe for all those going over the next few months can give it a go and try to set a record for this season and post it on their return.
Could you trust anyone to give you their real time ???
My advice is if anyone fancies it is to do it first thing in the morning, a bit icey but empty
Yes, i have done it but on skis, i was not pushing it as i was filming the run but i reckon a fair time would be 8 - 9 minutes, quite a bit quicker than i did it.
My other half and I like nothing better than a full-chat blast down the ski road at the end of the day. It's a pretty good challenge to ride the board flat in order not to sap too much speed for the final part. The only thing I would say, before we go encouraging everyone to 'go for a time' is please choose a quiet time of day, be safe, and have respect for the learners that are using the run.
The run down the mountains is suppose to be 7km in lenght which is approx 4.5 miles. Doing the run in 4.5 minutes would give you an average speed of 60mph!!!.
8-9 minutes is more realistic, remember for the last mile or so you'd be lucky to be doing 10mph.
But I'm up for giving it my best shot in Feb.
defined start from right hand side of gondola lift station the slope will see you off at a good speed, the finish is the first pilon ( post ) for the gondola, good luck people and don't forget to post your results with prove if possible, this season i will be aiming at around the 5 minute mark just to give you all something to aim for.
