Souldnt remove any neg posts as the thread then becomes bias and inacurrate. For a true picture you need to hear the negative aswell

Thankfully people have different taste's or else we'd all end up in the same place. Thankfully all countries are different or else the world would be a very boring place. Its perfectly safe for kids - there is nothing there that we don't have at home (sex clubs etc). Educate your kids and yourself before you go and then you won't be so dissapointed. As for the "thugs" in the street - hey we are all trying to make a living. Not once did I find any of them rude or abusive ( unlike some of ...

For me Borovets is a fun cheap resort - bring on March 7th!

As has been said on two on these threads, the only "thugs" in Borovets are the drunken Brits! I've been to Borovets 6 times, and the only trouble makers are the drunken tourists. Borovets is a ski resort that with a bit of forethought and attention to detail could be excellent value. The Bars/Restaurants are nearly all a rip off serving poor quality food at hugely inflated prices...it wouldn't be so bad if the food was of a good standard but it is not. I stayed at the Hotel Samakov which when we booked with First Choice was a 4* , well believe me it is not, and after my long letter of complaint went in i noticed that in this years First Choice brochure it has been ...

On the positive side the skiing wasn't bad, they just need to get a grip on the hotel and food side of things..there is no excuse in 2009 ..Communism has fallen in this country so deliver!

you have a point there.I've seen it in kusadasi (Turkey).
We are spending summerholliday for 14 years now and the only troublemalers are British.
The problem is that they can not drink, they are like kids which may play outside for the first time.

It is normally a small minority of british yobs that spoil it for others. I'm very happy for foreign police to lock them up and "lose the key"!!!

You get what you pay for basically. Boro is a great place to learn to ski with a great atmosphere you will struggle to match. Just returned for chamonix where it was about £9 a pint but the snow was perfect and the slopes quiet. If you want quality, youre gonna have to pay more!re: BOROVETS WHAT HORRIBLE PLACE
the cocktails in the Iglika got me very pissed so that 'water' they add to it must be pretty good stuff!!

Well said Clair, have been visiting Bulgaria now for only 4 years both coast and mountains.
Our family have met and made a good few bulgarian friends now, who have helped us in many different ways if you came to uk it just would not happen.
Borovets is a fantastic place to holiday as long as you go with the flow and treat locals as you would expect to be treat yourself.
Most idiots who complain about the resort/country are up their own arses. Why visit Bulgaria if you are not sure ...
