Last year whilst sking with an instructor from the pamporovo ski school he told me that when he did his national service in the army they trained on the perilik mountain and the snow always lasted a month or more than on the slopes in pamps.

re: the Perelik Project

Its true, the snow does last longer on Perelik, so the season period would be extended. There are a lot of locals that use Perelik in April, and some in March if Snejanka snow is poor.

Speaking to the engineers and the helicopter team in March the new lift to the tower is looking great for 2008 winter, with the head of the ski school on national tv promoting the new lift and runs. Fingers crossed !!!

The building of the runs and putting in of lifts to Perelik hasn't started yet , and as will all things I dont doubt that the plans and intentions are there, but the timescales do tend to vary and get longer - after all the project has been on the table for 10 - 15 years !! There has been opposition to the expansion on Nature grounds, but no news of cancelling the project.

Chris, I believe the turning is on the left on the Smolyan to Stoikite road directly after the right hand turning which leads to Pamporovo. Hope this helps

Hi Chris, I am having a house built in Momchilovtsi and I stay at a friend's guest house in Momchil when I am there. I looked at Progled but had already fallen in love with Momchil from the first moment I saw it.

I will be going back on 18 May and when I am there I am always driving myself out and about to all the surrounding areas researching, taking photos and simply enjoying the beauty of this magical mountain. When I left a couple of weeks ago the fields up in Rozen were covered in ...

I will be going back on 18 May and when I am there I am always driving myself out and about to all the surrounding areas researching, taking photos and simply enjoying the beauty of this magical mountain. When I left a couple of weeks ago the fields up in Rozen were covered in lilac crocuses - it was so beautiful and peaceful.
