re: the Perelik Project

This area is an outstanding beauty spot which after the builders have done their bit has become a local tip!
Perhaps some of the profit made from apartment sales could be spent cleaning up the mess.
This would then make this a pleasent place to stay when the snow dissapears and leaves the mess visable.
PS, The skiing in Pamps is great when there is good snow, and at least there is evidence that the project has started.

WOW -

Heated arguements again ...........-I Love Pamps and hope the projects all come off - but 6 month Ski is only a pipe dream. I was in Samokov in June last year - there was still snow on mountain but not ski snow .... but it is still a beautiful holiday and locals were fatastic. I am going to Chepelare this year and I think I will also enjoy, because there is not the same touristy thing going on as in the ski season.

Bulgaria is a fantastic place, being Irish... it reminds me of smaller towns in Ireland 20 years ago, I just hope joining EU doesn't change it as quickly as it did Ireland because there are many negatives that they may not expect

There are still many small villages in Bulgaria that I love to visit and hope the changes are slow - unlike the many who want to see changes yesterday

Exactly, i was in Serre Chavellier at 2800m in June and there was still snow up there at the end of June, but unless the peak depth is about 2m deep at the end of March, there will be nothing skiiable at the end of April.
Just look at Bansko, it has closed even thougth there is still over a metre of snow on top.
Perelik might work if it offered 20KM of pistes above 2000m.

re: the Perelik Project

....actually, i have just had a look at the shape and aspect of Perilik on Google Earth, it is a much better shaped mountain than pamps for beginners.
Pamps has all the steep slopes facing north whereas Perelik has the opportunity to have a lot of beginners slopes on the plateau above 1900m facing north.
this would rival the beginners slope in pamps - the green from mid to bottom, but 500-600m higher and wider.
A few nice blues/greens at that altitude would be ideal, they would be higher ...

Bansko hasn't closed, its almost fully open. And even when the gondola closes next week, the upper lifts remain open until May for T-shirt skiing.

Only possible when every visitor starts bringing a large rock each and place it on perelik top and then in a few centuries the hight will rise enough for the 6 months-until then .....

Mikey correct spelling should read (mentioned) (living) and (height) Very Happy please put your dummy in and stop being so depressing. You really must have been stung badly to be so bitter and twisted about Bulgaria. You know there is help out there if you need it.
