re: Can this forum be revived?

Hi all, just a quick note on this subject, i have been looking on this site for a few years now but got so p@,/=d off last year with the amount of crap that was being posted which had nothing to do with sking / boarding or Bulgaria that i just lost interest in the site, i would still come and have a look but that was very short lived, i returned this season just to see the webcam but guess what, still stuck on last season pics.

so i guess with the out of date webcams and the mixture of pratts posting rubbish maybe thats enough for a lot of the people that make these sites, one option you could have, is a sister site for all the pratts you could call it i can't ski Bulgaria but i am a pratt.

Sorry people.

re: Can this forum be revived?

Once we'd had the "let's get the holiday booked" conversation at home, I've been checking most days, usually, morning, lunch break and in the evening. Now the snow is here (and gone, then here again...!) hopefully most people will get itchy fingers and start posting again. Maybe too many people browsing the topics as some aren't relevant to them (dare I say the word - orphanage), let's hope for some more generic and widespread debates that more people feel they can contribute to. Love a ...

Love a bit of scandal now and again though, some quite heated stuff this week!!

I am a member of a few forums, not only for skiing and there seems to be a downturn with all of them.
I think the interest with forums on the net is dwindling in general.
Just my thoughts.

There is only one orphanage thread, I dont think it takes up too much space really, this has always been a friendly, funny, informative site with lots of different and interesting stuff, I hope it does n't change.

re: Can this forum be revived?

Julie, every day last season there was talk on different threads about the orphanage - not that I'm knocking those that want to be involved - but what we're talking about here is why people don't seem to be coming back from last year.

On one of the other threads today there was some quite heated stuff about the orphanage - if people are new to the site it might come across as offputting. My comment centred around getting more threads of more interest to a wider range of people - then ...

On one of the other threads today there was some quite heated stuff about the orphanage - if people are new to the site it might come across as offputting. My comment centred around getting more threads of more interest to a wider range of people - then those visiting the site for the first time would want to come back.

I personally love checking the discussions every day but don't feel in a position to comment on a lot of them as they aren't of interest to me ( a holidaymaker, interested in what's going on at the moment).

Not knocking your comment, let's just keep it nice and welcoming on here.

re: Can this forum be revived?

I too have been following the forum for some time as it is the only way to get up to date info / rumors about pamps, (I am a property owner there)

Theres a lot of post making refrence to companies owning the web site or monitorig the forum. But who is maintaining the site, it hasn't changed for a few years.

Maybe the posts would be more current and topical if the web site was maintaind and updated. From the forum there appears to be more runs added, a new lift etc but no maps or ...

re: Can this forum be revived?

Have to agree with the above ref the site . While they update stuff like new hotels etc the updating of maps ski runs lifts etc is not done and still the same for the last few years. As this must be one of their main sources for getinng info out there improving the board facilities as with the SKIDVD site would I think attract more users.

i also believe the tour operators have cancelled many flights for this season so not as many going as previous years.

sometimes u ask a question and u just get scarasim answers, this is off putting to new comers.

the admin/moderators must have alot of email addresses of previous site users why not invite back via email all ex ...

re: Can this forum be revived?

I think it was last year that caused most of the damage. I no longer ski in BG but still visit the board, however last year you couldn't log on without someone blowing their own trumpet or informing everybody of their self importance.

I'm not knocking anyones contributions to worthwhile causes but that's not the main reason people visit the site.

How many times last year was a one line "back to the top" or "and back to the top again" added to certain threads, thus page one of the ...

How many times last year was a one line "back to the top" or "and back to the top again" added to certain threads, thus page one of the forum was dominated by similar/related posts with little relevance to; skiing, boarding, destinations, equipment hire etc.
