re: Can this forum be revived?

For me, and for others judging by some of the replies to this post, there seems to be a very real and definite shift in attitude and passion that once proliferated through this forum. This also appears to be linked to the sudden loss of enthusiasm for skiing and boarding in Bulgaria due to the varying contributing factors.

This is truly a sad day! Sad Sad Sad

Hornster - Don't be sad - we can fix this; well, the happy banter on the board anyway. This is a thread that is getting a positive response, and keeps moving.

Will the BG tourist industry get a bit of a shock do you think? Very Happy Very Happy

Tufty-Duck, i'm not sure how this will or has effected the BG tourist industry but if this thread is a sign of the times then one thing is for certain...they could well be losing some very keen and, once upon a time, Bulgaria loving winter sports enthusisasts.

I agree that the BG will be losing some of the keen and loyal return visitors. I wonder whether they need to pull their socks up and provide better value for money, or lower their prices back to the value. I don't think that the value is all to do with price or level of service/facilities.

I am sure the opinions of people on here will not influence a country, even if they have a lack of visitors this year (in the winter) they will blame the credit crunch. I am not sure about summer hols prices, service etc etc (and the number of people going to BG) but I have a distinct feeling that this year might be a big tester for the country and Balkan Holidays. If they go bust then there might be trouble. A lot of people used BG as a second holiday, now they might just be having 1. A ...

If they go bust then there might be trouble. A lot of people used BG as a second holiday, now they might just be having 1. A big factor on here might be the distinct lack of snow over the last couple of years, people are also not willing to take a risk (even for a cheap holiday) incase there is no snow and therefore have moved on.

re: Can this forum be revived?

As Hornster and Tufty-duck mention; BG loosing return visitors, are the ski resorts not going to pick up the likes of me who can no longer afford the better known European resorts and having tried Bansko last two years as a second week winter destination am only too happy to make Bulgaria my only weeks snowboarding holiday of this next season, surely there are a lot of people who know Bulgaira still makes financial sense, if only the cost of lift pass and tuition which is at least half what ...

Confused

Cannot see a problem Andy. Nobody was shouting just giving opinions. Mountains out of molehills springs to mind. Confused
