Instead of arguing let have a fashion show.

Anyone got any good all in 1 bulgarian / makro (early 80's) ski suit snaps they would like to share?

Nobody was shouting just giving opinions
I wasn't shouting Daniel was I?.......I thought that was capital letters and it was just my opinion.

Mountains out of molehills springs to mind
If this is referring to a thread several weeks ago, I was only pointing out a post that I thought was mis-leading and it wasn't me that started bringing personal remarks into the topic.
If anything, I thought I was being quite diplomatic.
Gee's u poms r hard work!
Very Happy

re: Can this forum be revived?

Easy now Tiger, what i made was a very valid point, someone asked for a Catered chalet in Borovets not Goverdartsi...

Fact is there are not many catered chalets in Boro,so again mountains out of mole hills..

Is the a bus link to Goverdartsi at 1 in the morning???

Funny that we didn't see either of the posters again??

A little trolling going on again i belive...

Hey ho,we can talk about it over a beer as i'm out there for the season... Booze Wink

re: Can this forum be revived?

Going back to what Snik said:

"surely there are a lot of people who know Bulgaira still makes financial sense, if only the cost of lift pass and tuition which is at least half what it costs everywhere else"

I'm not sure this is the case anymore though, atleast not by as much as it always was - this is bound to start an argument lol...

But, for instance, this year we won't be returning to Borovets for the first time in 7 years and a big factor is that for 7 days in Borovets last year ...

But, for instance, this year we won't be returning to Borovets for the first time in 7 years and a big factor is that for 7 days in Borovets last year cost us roughly £420 all in, and this year we have found 9 days in Mayrhofen Austria for £480.... not really alot of difference in price when you consider the vast difference in skiing available between the two resorts!

re: Can this forum be revived?

Colin,i guess the prove will be when you return and tell us how much you spent out there, would be very interested to see..

I'm off to Cervinia next week they got 220cm of snow with another 77 due on the weekend Razz 4 days even at thia time of yr is more than Borovets for a week in January, but as i always say,it's what you want out of skiing and a ski holiday,if it's 60kms a day go else where,if it's a bit more of a holiday and 30 kms a day with a nice bit of apres ski and a warm welcome ...

re: Can this forum be revived?

The price of the holiday may well seem as cheap in Austria, but it's all the additional cost which we found to be so expensive comparing Obergurgle, Austria to Bansko Bulgaria last Jan and March, lift pass 220 quid compared to 90 quid, 1 day's private snowboarding tuition was 100 euro compared to 3 full mornings worth in Bansko for 50 euro, a gin tonic 10 quid at the very cheapest, often no ice n slice yet Bombay Saphire and all the trimmings for 2.50 quid, everywhere in Bansko, sports ...

We worked it out that it ended up costing much more than a grand for 2 of us to holiday frugally in Obergurlge compared a real jolly time in a much better hotel 'Kempinski' in Bansko.

I still believe give good snow conditions, Bulgaria is affordable. We have a friend offering us free accommodation at his apartment in Chamonix, yet it's still much cheaper to stay HB in a reasonable hotel Bulgarian resorts, give the added cost of lift pass etc. Confused

ps it does make a difference in destination as we are snowboarders not looking for endless runs and detesting highly groomed piste.

re: Can this forum be revived?

Spending money of course will be more than in Bulgaria, but other than that please note the £480 quoted is for everything... flights, accomodation, lift pass, ski equipment hire etc etc (no beginners in our group so not effected by tuition fees luckily)

With the poor conditions of recent years we personally just felt it was worth saving that extra cash for spending money and going to a bigger resort....

re: Can this forum be revived?

Sorry, I mean it cost an extra grand to the total holiday cost for Austrian corduroy Sad
