I dont see a problem in letting people know what has gone in your case. However when people jump on board and start calling for boycotts its a little worrying. In a ski resort you should be skiing all day long(non stop-you have paid for that to travel accross the continent) and rest your legs in front of a fireplace have a chat with friends and go to bed to be ready for the next day skiing.Am I right?Unless you are there for the drinking sessions then it is different of course.

Just found out my son Olly also had 200 lev nick when he had his drink spiked. Worried to tell me, but as I said it is not his fault.Obviously saw he had money in his wallet and was young and an easy target. Then spiked his drink, then was able to get money from him when he next went to bar.
I really enjoyed Bulgaria as we have been there for last 2 years, but I feel really let down now. Just glad we were there with my son and his friends as anything could have happened.

Hi TJI'm not sure if it was the same night, but will find out. Olly didn't want to tell me, but it makes more sense now.

no it wasnt the same night, but they probably did take a fair amount.
I think that its ridiculous some of the responces on here...
It doesnt matter who you are, old young, heavy drinker light drinker, it appears that everyone could be a potential target.
However, there are places like this ALL over the world, you just have to get to know the area, stay with what peole say is better for your interests.
If it is in your interest to go out, get hammered and have your stomach pumped, be ...

Yet, if you dont want to end up in hospital/medical center/first aid room, then stay away from these places....to be honest its just common sense
I am not trying to get on anyones nerves, but to be honest everyone has had good points to (more or less) most of the posts:
1) dont take an expensive phone out with you. But take a cheap one, so you have some form of cantact.
2) dont take out all your money, but make sure you keep it in a good place.
3) dont hand over any valubles, even jackets to a place your not sure of/unfamiliar. But do dress approppriatley according to the weather, and keep tabs on what you took in
and lastly
MAKE SURE THERE IS ONE ATLEAST SEMI SOBER PERSON TO KEEP AN EYE ON THINGS!!!!
Rotate it form night to night on who gets drunk and who doesnt, or if you dont like that idea, just get merry, make sure you know whats going on, and if you see anything suspicous, get out of there.
Unfortunatly, the only bar in borovets which i have heard this kind of thing going on in, is the Buzz Bar.
To be honest, i couldnt care less who owns it, and it should be like this for bars accros the world:
It is not clever to take peoples hard earned cash, be it in cash, card, as a valubale item (phone camera), it is also not clever to spike somones drink for s***s and giggles, and to get them to pay up more.
Anyone who does this should feel ashamed for themselves, not just because its wrong, but becuase it really isnt a nice thing.
And to be honest, its quite a stupid thing for business aswell...unless you want to get rid of certain people.
IF i ever go back to borovets,, I certainly will not be going to buzz bar unless its reputation goes up. Which, to be perfectly honest, doesnt sound like it.
GO to the alpina, nice bar, good food, great employees.
I hope this enlightens people so you can all stop bickering and help one another!
