Well it seems common sense to me .Ive seen the state some people get into in Borovets and their will allways be predators about in Tourist hotspots wherever you go in the world
I am sure your son was drugged with the aim of robbing him, just as you are saying.
If I were you, I would get in touch with as many newspapers in the UK and get one of them to publish your story. It would be good to do that because unless something like this is written in the press and read by many people over here, the corrupt Bulgarians will never take any notice and sort themselves out. It would also serve as warning to other potential victims from the UK.

As a general note, the Bulgarian police are extremely corrupt and protect the criminals in any way they can (obviously, they are paid by the criminals for that). Last summer, for example, a few bouncers killed a Swedish tourist at the seaside and while one of them was jumping on the tourist's head, a policeman was staying nearby, just watching the spectacle. Guess what happened to the killers and the policeman - nothing!
I'm a 17yr old girl from england and i visited the Buzz bar with a group of friends, 3 nights of my holiday. We were given free shots but were treated well,, especially the girls. One of the security guards even said to a boy that was with us "you hurt her,, we hurt you." I felt very safe in there,, however i do think it is a little more dangerous for boys. When it comes to the bar staff,, they were all friendly,, most of them being english. The best bet in there is to go in with your ski ...

When it comes to the bar staff,, they were all friendly,, most of them being english. The best bet in there is to go in with your ski instructor. As we had emo,, every1 knew him so just made it an even bigger laugh. With the alcohol i don't think they spike it,, its just very different to english spirits and the measures are a lot larger.
The music is good,, the toilets are a bit scabby and some of the boys said that they were offered poppers in the toilets but besides that i think its the best club in borovets and definately the place to be if you are aged between 16 and 25 all you old fogies have just forgotten how to party.
I am a friend of Natalie adn also visited the buzz bar while on holiday in borovets. a si am only 15 i did not have any alchol in there so can not really comment on that. i must admit that the atmosphere in there doe sometimes feel slightly dodgey. but as i was in there with 3 instructers from our group i felt quite safe. we are going back again next year but after reading the above comments will watch out for the buzz bar.
Emma - well done for listening with an open mind. It wasn't all 'fogies' who had problems in the Buzz, in fact it seemed it was the under 25's who had bad experiences not us over 25's.
