re: What should be changed in Pamporovo

Went to Pamps last year for first time as was cheap and we were skint Crying

Just returned from austria (Mayrhofen) and the prices are the same in the UK for food and drinks, plus the snow is a dead cert as it's so high up.

The euro/pound didn't help that much though as was £1 - 1.02 euro but have noticed it's back to 1.12 so might have to go again now Very Happy

Hi Galina,
Do you have reps in Bansko or Boro that could do something similier? I know that the Bulgaria ski property office is in Bansko. Just wondering as I am sure that the other resorts would have similar comments.

There's more than all that wrong with the resort, I found it to be a very poor relation of the Western European Resorts, In fact, a dump. No snow cannons, dangerous conditions, poor instruction, shoddy equipment....I could go on... My rental ski's were stolen my third day and I was made to feel like a criminal. I was threatened with police and arrest. Another holiday maker informed me it's a regular occurrence and simply a scam to get you to claim off your insurance so they get to replace ...

Another holiday maker informed me it's a regular occurrence and simply a scam to get you to claim off your insurance so they get to replace sub-standard equipment. I pity the poor people who have their first ski experience here and think it's typical.

Where do I begin? Snow canons, end the rip-off in the bars and restaurants, provide a better service in the Ski Centres, teach the Instructors English, provide safe maintained rental equipment... etc. etc. They can do what they like, I will never again set foot there after my experience.

Sounds like it wasnt the best of experiences susan.

surely some more snow may have put a shine on a somewhat tarnished holiday?

To be honest, the theft of the ski's was a real downer, that has never happened before. It was the way I was treated that spoiled it. I am a 29-year-old female and my friends had gone ahead when I discovered the theft, I found the staff (all male) extremely intimidating and patronising and I was left for 2 hours sitting on my own in a room while they discussed (in Bulgarian) what they were going to do. It was frightening. Snow wouldn't have made a whole pile of difference!

It would be nice if you could be more specific. That way Galina can take all the ideas to the table and inform them with power in the resort.

I've made my complaints to Topflight and I'm leaving them deal with it.
