re: Brilliant - Borovets

I really didn't realise that so many people would take my comment so seriously.

Like you Daniel Snell I can't believe that it's stil running, and yes emotions are running high, I originally only ment it as a bit of fun. I didn't want it to result in bad language, very naughty!
Smile

I am enjoying the banter though.
Very Happy

i was in sunshine and lake louise in canada in jan and believe me they have instructors for every level from total beginner to double black diamond runners skiing or snowboarding.
it is exceptional out there.

well worth the extra pennys but a 2 week lift pass will come in at around £450 but that includes 3 resorts bus transfers to and from resorts and night skiing

Cheers macca, just couldn't see it on the net or in
the brochure, quite fancy the 2 centre hol.
Boro for our first time skiing was fantastic,
the prices for the hol aren't much more than boro but
like you said the lift pass does put the price up and
then ski hire and tuition, puts it up to about a grand each. Is eating out expensive?

cheers

You would love it!
If your'e a beginner and you've done your stint in Boro, I take my Hat off to you. Beacuse you have probably learnt to ski in the worst conditions a newby could have in the last couple of weeks ( no snow , ice , slush and bear ground ) If you ski in the powder in canada you would see the difference straight away you're skiing would improve 110%

There instructors for all levels who take there time with you. I went to canada when I was a newby and by the time I left i had done my first easy black. There are no very few buttons , all chairs the lift operaters slow the chairs down when beginners use them for the first ime. they stop if ya fall ( don't let you pile up and laugh, like in boro) And in a place like Banff it has three Ski areas close by and you would be hard pusher to ski every run.
Food is great ! wide choice and about half the price you would pay here.

I would highly recommend it !

you can look round and get some good deals !

i can only really comment on banff been there for the last 2 years, eating is not to bad pretty much what you would pay here or a little less but the locals are so polite and friendly. and there is so much to do, if you go you must try the outdoor hot springs they are so hot about 48 deg so your sitting by the pool in shorts at -10 in the snow. awesome.

re: Brilliant - Borovets

cheers pete,
first 2 days outside the rilla, then rest of the week
up the top of the gongola, managed to do the red by the thursday, which i am pretty pleased about, didnt really expect to do that in week 1.
the only day we struggled was the Fri, when they shut the gondola for 4-5 hours, i could probably have got down to the mid station, but my girlfriend not as keen
as me.
when's the best time? jan/feb for banff?
well its a year away, plenty of time to save.
