Wow, what a turnaround. Welcome to the Canadain Ski Resort Appreciation Forum.

Got back from borovets on saturday, started next year's trip to canada saving fund already. Sorry if i upset anyone with my foolsish language yesterday. won't happen again.

Nice that we all appear to be getting along now eh? Now that we've put the world to rights (or Borovets at least).

Just to add to the Canadian appreciation, I went a couple of years back, not skiing but I stayed in Banff.

Stunning place superb food great service and good hotels. The exchange rate was better then and eating out was certainly cheaper than the UK. Anyone gets a chance GO ski or board it.

have spent a few minutes looking at the inghams website, as well as the crystal one yesterday. Looks like total price of holiday (flights, accomodation, ski pass and food), not including spending money, is probably goint to be 1 1/2 to twice the cost of this years trip to borovets. I'm a fairly advanced skiier whilst my girlfriend is a beginner / intermediate. As i mentioned yesterday, she (and quite a few others) didn't get on too well this year in borovets, partly down to the conditions, ...

Was thinking of getting her 'up to standard', so to speak, in the uk (probably with Xscape lessons) before we go to Canada / USA next year. That way we can ski together and explore all there is to see.

Tuition in whistler I thought was top quality, 8 ppl to group (which dropped to 5 on 3rd day) teaching levels 1 up to level 5/6 ppl were able to move up or down a level easily at any time, my partner who is advanced learned about deep powder! while I was a novice and cracked parallel turns in three days. prices in resteraunts and shops were a pound to the dollar at approx 2 dollars to the the pound. Canadians were down to earth and witty people always willing to help you.The flight is a bit ...

If you go to Whistler be warned!!!... ski holidays that you go on after are likely to be a dissappointment!

macca

Christmas 2007...lift pass for 1 week $340 (£170)...Whistler is the premier resort and therefore more expensive than Banff...are you sure about £450 for 2 weeks?

Lessons are for all abilities and the standard of tuition is exemplary.
